Take a generous, deep breath and feel your entire rib cage expand--top to bottom, and all sides. Keep inhaling until it feels like your entire chest, back and sides are full of wonderful, energizing breath.

Slowly, allow the breath to release, and feel all of your muscles relax, tension release, and worries escape!

Daily Resource: Protein Powder

If you like smoothies for breakfast and use a protein powder, it helps to use one without a lot of processing, chemicals and sweeteners. I also prefer one that does not have any soy or whey.

My childhood dream of becoming an anthropologist has manifested in my choice to live in many places. Travel brings depth and self-awareness distinct from a vacation experience.  People who read my travel blogs feel they have actually been there. I bring a bohemian heart, a nomadic soul, and an inquisitive mind to the kaleidoscope of life.
I believe life is an adventure and each person has a unique journey. Having lived many places over the years, I look for the light and connection that feels like home in any place I visit.

Daily Resource: Starting A Meditation Practice

Use some great resources to aid you in creating a regular meditation practice.

Apps like  calm, headspace
Deepak Chopra and Oprah often offer free 21-day meditations.

It is not how long you sit or how expensive the course. The point is to take a few moments every day to be fully present and learn to let distracting thoughts amble by like clouds floating in the sky.  Please don't make this another goal or to-do list item.


Consider it "you" time. It takes practice.
Meditation is a practice for your mind to learn to bounce back quickly from circumstances that take you off-balance. Like training your heart for cardiovascular exercise, it is the recovery time that measures progress.

To start just focus on a slow inhale and a slow exhale. That's it. You were mindful for a moment.
